THE BUILDING

Mulkey-Loggins House

Origin: Cleburne, Texas, 1905

The Mulkey-Loggins House is a fine example of Victorian-era Queen Anne architecture. Built in Ennis, Texas in 1898 by Dr. James C. Loggins, mayor and alderman, on land settled in 1854 by pioneer Philip Mulkey. In 2016 it was moved to Founders Row.

A prime example of late 1800’s architectural style, was originally built in Cleburne, Texas around 1905 by C.W. Mertz, a prominent civic leader. In 2016, the house was moved to Founders Row and given new life.

The Old Church

Origin: Italy, Texas 1890

Originally known as The First Christian Church, this building is an example of fine craftsmanship and architecture popular in 1890 when the congregation was first founded. The building was moved to Founders Row in 2019 from Italy, Texas where it stood for over 100 years.

The William Hosford House, once known as “The Pink Lady”, is an example of fine craftsmanship and Victorian architecture popular in the 1800’s. The house was moved to Founders Row in 2017 from Waxahachie, TX where it stood for over 100 years.

Now in place on their new foundations, the buildings have been completely renovated with incredible skill and are ready for business. THE DEVELOPERS

A TEAM WITH A VISION

The project is led by a team with experience and expertise in architecture, design and development. Their inspiration came from a visit to Old City Park in Downtown Dallas coupled with a passion for historic preservation. By combining their knowledge of historic homes with their talent and expertise in design, relocation and restoration, they are bringing history to life in Downtown Midlothian.

With a Master’s Degree in Architecture, Stephen Hidlebaugh has been involved with the development of over 100 new or majorly renovated communities throughout the United States and more than 20 properties in Midlothian alone. His passion for architecture, design and continuing the rich heritage of the historic structures he preserves is evident in every project he undertakes.
